Institute for Urban and Minority Education – Teachers College, Columbia University

For over forty years, IUME has used advocacy, demonstration, evaluation, information dissemination, research and technical assistance to study and seek to improve the quality of life chances of communities of color through education in urban contexts. Part of Teachers College, Columbia University, the Institute continues the vision of its founder, Dr. Edmund Gordon, to explore critical questions, develop interdisciplinary research programs to address important issues, and facilitate dialogue and dissemination of ideas and solutions to pressing educational problems.
